Kelly Obryan’s – December 2017

The view of upstairs, post gutting, pre-installation.

Sound Solutions was awarded the contract to supply and install the audio video system at Kelly OBryan’s.  This is a pub/restaurant with an Irish twist to it, and offer  8 locations around BC. This location is where the old Keg restaurant used to be located in New Westminster,  in a 100 + year old building, complete with lath and plaster construction. Over the summer of 2017, the old Keg was gutted, and brought up to modern construction codes. Naturally, a busy restaurant needs a quality sound system, and  Sound Solutions provided a multi-zone audio system along with  a total of 11 televisions.

We installed a Xilica Neutrino 0808 8 x 8 digital matrix with touch screen  and IPad control. With a local Wifi router, we have full coverage of the restaurant, so that staff can set volume levels from an IPad, as well as the touch screen located conveniently beside the bar.

A new sound rack was mounted out of the way at the bar area, housing the Xilica digital signal processor, 8 channels of QSC PLD 4.2 amplifiers, along with 4 HD Shaw cable boxes, and a ZeeVee 4 channel HD modulator. A Bluetooth receiver allows the staff to listen wirelessly to music on their phones, and an MP3  jack allows non Bluetooth equipped music sources to be plugged into the sound system.

The sound system accepts the audio from four different cable boxes, along with a Bluetooth and an MP3 player input jack. The touch screen was customized with the Kelly O Bryan’s logo, and the IPad screens duplicate that on the wall mounted touch screen.

We installed seven televisions around the bar area, allowing a clear view at and beyond the bar seating area. Additional TVs upstairs and throughout the restaurant mean that everyone can see whatever game they choose.

In the spring of 2018, an outdoor patio will be opened, with its own additional zone of music.
