The Challenge
Our crew was asked to install a Bose Panaray speaker system into the figure skating rink of the Burnaby 8 Rinks complex. Extensively used by figure skaters, the central cluster was required to provide exceptionally clear music and speech reproduction.
The Solution
Along with the Bose Panaray system, we installed a subwoofer that has been carefully tuned with a 31-band equalizer to prevent excessive bass. With a nominal amount of acoustical treatment in the rink, we were able to maintain very high intelligibility for all formats of music. The speaker cluster covers the ice surface very evenly, and is very small compared to other sound systems installed over the ice surface.
